The producer and face of Capcom’s recent run of fighting games, Yoshinori Ono, has announced he’s placed another member of the team in charge of the company’s future Street Fighter titles. This means he’s also taking a break from promotional work too.
Last week Ono was hospitalised after a tour across Asia promoting new release Street Fighter X Tekken. His physical condition was described as “rapidly and heavily deteriorated”. With fans worried, Ono responded via Twitter four days afterward thanking everyone for the caring messages and support.
He later explained his future plans, “I’ll refrain from work for current job for a while. Another person in charge of SF series for a while. Of course I’ll constant support to it,” he said. “I’ll be out of the limelight as fighting game series for a while.” Threat not though as Ono finished by saying, “I’ll think about the new future of fighting game after this. ;D”
We at FanCensus give our best wishes to Ono and look forward to what he has in store for us in the future.
