The Wii U launch is slowly approaching (apparently) but so far we’ve yet to get any real concrete info on when and what will be released. Retailers are now starting to put together their displays for the new console perhaps hinting at more news soon and we couldn’t be more excited.
While Germany and some stores in the US have been reported to have promotional goods already, Australia is next up revealing some interesting tidbits in the process.
First up is the fact that NintendoLand has it’s own display box. Does this mean the game will not be bundled in with the console (similar to Wii Sports on the Wii)? Amazon and a number of other online retailers have listed the game as a standalone product so it seems that way.
Another thing noticed was the games appearing as 2012 releases. While the likes of Darksiders 2 and Assassin’s Creed 2 were expected as launch titles already, games such as Rayman Legends, Pikmin 3 and even New Super Mario Bros U were a little more hazy. Well according to the image above it seems all three will be making it into stores before the end of the year! While this could simply just be the retailer assuming for themselves that this is true, it could also be likely that they are gaining this information from Nintendo themselves, who up until now have said very little.
Either way it’s encouraging to see things moving along for the new console and hopefully Nintendo will have something more official to say on the matter soon.
