Monster Hunter Tri G was released in Japan in last year for Nintendo 3DS and has gone on to become a huge hit, selling over 1.5 million copies. Unfortunately we’ve yet to hear anything about a release elsewhere. These worries were only heightened over the weekend when David Gibson, Head of Software & Services for Macquarie Capital Securities Japan, tweeted: “Capcom keep saying its unlikely as audience not there based on the Wii game.” when asked the chances of Monster Hunter 3G being released outside of Japan. This claim was based on insider knowledge.
However Capcom has since responded to these claims perhaps calming fans for the time being. Writing on the Capcom-Unity forum, Senior Vice President Christian Svensson said: “I’d like him to name a source.” While by no means a confirmation, it’s confirmed localisation isn’t being completely ruled out and given us slightly more hope that we might see an announcement in the future. Perhaps E3? Stay tuned.
