Nintendo are smiling this week as once more they continue to dominate Japan with the top ten titles in this week’s software chart all found on Nintendo platforms. New Super Mario Bros. 2 is leader with just under 150,000 more copies sold. At the current rate of sales it will have broken the million mark by this time next week.

According to official retail estimates, in just two days Nintendo has sold nearly 200,000 units of its new 3DS XL handheld across Japan. The console went on sale July 28th and has reportedly sold an estimated 193,000 units domestically. It was a good week for CAPCOM who managed to sell over 250,000 copies of Raccoon City for the PS3 in Japan. The Xbox version saw just 16,000. It may not have been well received by critics, but that hasn’t stopped it making quite an impressive showing worldwide. Mario Party 9 too had a decent start selling over 150,000 copies.
