It seems Gamesradar have listed on their site Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed for the PlayStation 3. Could this be the long awaited sequel to Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing?

This news appears oddly enough at the same time Steve Lycett, the executive producer at Sumo Digital mentioned on their Twitter yesterday “Apparently should keep an eye out tomorrow…” Sumo were responsible for the original title and have been rumoured to the working on a sequel for quite some time now. Originally thought to be a Wii U, 3DS and Vita release has the format range been expanded since?

The original title was an underrated racer and in my opinion actually a better karter than Mario Kart on the Wii at the time. The handling and better balancing of weapons meant skilled racers were not going to get screwed over at the last minute with a weapon. Fingers crossed Sumo come up with the goods and release some official info on the sequel.
