Rayman Legends Confirmed For Delay To 2013

Published on October 8, 2012 by

Fingers crossed the delay isn’t true

With the Wii U launch just over a month away, the launch line-up has started shaping up offering games like FIFA 13, New Super Mario Bros U, ZombiU and Epic Mickey 2. One game that has now slipped from its original launch title status is the promising looking Rayman Legends. This was first discovered after release dates for the game shifted to Q1 2013 on the UK Official Nintendo site and also the product page on the Official German Nintendo site.

Well now Ubisoft have confirmed it, releasing the following statement:

“Rayman Legends will launch worldwide in the first quarter of 2013. We’re happy that fans are excited about the game, and we are taking the time to make sure we deliver a game that lives up to and hopefully exceeds their expectations. We’ll have more details to share soon.”

The delay comes as a surprise as Rayman Legends was originally locked in for a Wii U launch title in Europe with America having to wait just a little longer. However this still means it falls under Nintendo’s ridiculously long launch window area.

This is a real shame as Legends has delivered perhaps the best example of the Wii U’s unique features in action. Our experiences with the game at E3 and Eurogamer Expo have always been nothing less than fantastic and to lose it as a launch title is disappointing. Still at least we know the game isn’t being rushed.
