Over the last week Junichi Masuda started teasing a big Pokemon announcement for this Sunday. Well the day has come and as promised a big new entry in the long running series has been official unveiled… well two big new entries.

Excited or disappointed?

Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 were officially announced today complete with an official website marking the first time in series history where a numerical sequel will be released instead of one with a colour change in the title. Sorry those waiting on a Pokemon Grey.

Fans might be disappointed to learn that both will be Nintendo DS titles and not 3DS ones. While you can still play these games on the 3DS console it’s a shame the series won’t see it’s first steps into the third dimension. While no details have been shed, you can expect to see more news in the coming months.
