Seems Nintendo have recently registered a domain for ‘supermario4.com’. Nintendo of America controls the domain, which when searched actually redirects to the platform holder’s website.
Remember at the last investor’s presentation in January Nintendo president, Satoru Iwata announced a new 2D Mario title was in development for the 3DS with a release planned for during its next fiscal year (April 2012 through March 2013). Could this be related?
Could we be seeing a true sequel to the NES series?
Whether this is because Nintendo just want to cover their bases for the future or this is in fact related to a product is still up for speculation.
Would you like to see an official continuation in the original Mario Bros. series? I’m all for it. Bring back the frog suit and green boot I say!
