The latest firmware update for the Nintendo 3DS is now available worldwide. A number of additions have been included with this, perhaps the most notable are the use of folders to organise your main menu. Each folder can hold up to sixty games and apps making organisation and navigation on the home screen a lot easier.
The eShop interface has seen a redesign, now displaying two rows of choices instead of the usual one. Earlier today when I was online the bottom row was being used to show off Virtual Console titles along with a few other options. It seems nicer to use than before.
Another big addition is the ability to update select 3DS software with patches. Whether this means DLC is now a possibility is uncertain, but with news that games like Might Switch Force getting new stages added, we don’t see why not. Nintendo have already announced a patch for Mario Kart 7 releasing mid-May to correct the notorious Maka Wuhu shortcut exploit.
Have you gotten the system update yet?
