It’s no secret that Minecraft is extremely popular on the PC and with news hitting that the Xbox Live version has been downloaded by over one million gamers only further cements its reputation. However its also interesting to note just how popular Mojang’s creative sensation is online too, having now overtaken Call of Duty: Black Ops on the weekly Xbox Live activity chart. Originally in third last week, behind both Activision’s Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3 the game has managed to rise up to second. Will it have what it takes to topple number one?
Microsoft community dude Major Nelson earlier today tweeted, “Pretty sure this is the first time an XBLA title has hit #2.”Not bad at all.
Here’s the full list of activity on Xbox Live for the previous week from Major Nelson:
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
