UPDATE: Seems the binder was in fact available in our local WHSmiths, we just missed it. It’s labelled as the Kid Icarus Uprising Starter Pack and contains three packets and a collector’s folder big enough to store all 404 cards.
It seems that the Kid Icarus AR cards are now on sale… in the UK at least. Walking down our local high street we managed to come across a fresh box of the beauties which came as quite a surprise especially since the distributor Panani have said absolutely nothing on the topic. Well we can now reveal all.
The cards come in exactly the same packet as the Nintendo Club packets that were given away in exchange for Stars and even offer the same number of cards, six. The price for a single packet is £1.50, a little steep especially considering you only get a half dozen in each.
On the back of the packet some interesting information is revealed on the cards themselves. According to the pack, there are 404 cards to collect with four different rarity types in all; Base, Silver, Gold and Diamond. While silver cards come by once in every two packets, the diamond Palutena card only appears once in every 1600 packets! The full list of details follows.
261 Base Cards
96 Silver Cards (1 in 2 packets)
45 Gold Cards (1 in 8 packets)
2 Diamond Cards (Card 403: 1 in 67 packets / Card 404: 1 in 1600 packets)
So whether other stores have these in stock yet or if the collector’s album is also being released is unknown, but we’ll keep you updated as we find out more.

What shop were selling these cards? Newsagents? Specific supermarket? I would love to know so I can start searching my nearest ones to get some of these cards myself!
Found them in a WHSmiths in Wokingham.
What shop was it? And was the folder on sale to?
WHSmiths in Wokingham. Sadly I couldn’t see any signs of the folder. Hopefully they’ll be out soon.
