Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Hands-On

Published on June 29, 2012 by

Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing was a decent little racer from Outrun developer Sumo Digital. When it released back in 2010 it took the tried and tested go-karting genre and gave it a unique SEGA spin and while comparisons were immediately drawn with Mario and his racing series, believe it or not I ended up preferring Sonic’s attempt more. This

NintendoLand Hands-On

Published on June 26, 2012 by

NintendoLand is Nintendo’s attempt at creating an experience that does for the Wii U what Wii Sports did for the Wii. It’s a collection of mini-games that were designed to demonstrate to newcomers the Wii U’s new GamePad, and the concept of what the publisher is calling “asymmetrical gameplay”. Nintendo had five of the twelve games on show at E3

Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon Hands-On

Published on June 21, 2012 by

It was funny looking in Nintendo’s booth at E3 this year only to see nothing but Wii U consoles. You would have been forgiven for thinking the company had pretty much forgotten all about its handheld save for the odd representative walking around with a couple of 3DS consoles strapped to her. While the announcements for the system may have

Rayman Legends Hands-On

Published on June 15, 2012 by

Rayman Origins was easily one of the most beautiful, genuinely enjoyable titles of last year and even though it may not have sold as well as it deserved, that hasn’t stopped Ubisoft from bringing the limbless hero back for one more adventure on the Wii U. Many will likely remember the leaked internal trailer from last month that featured a

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Hands-On

Published on June 14, 2012 by

Let’s kick this preview off by dealing with the elephant in the room. This looks and feels like a Smash Bros game. I know it, you know it and just about everyone out there who’s had a chance to get some playtime with this game knows it. No matter what Sony did there was no chance comparisons weren’t going

Epic Mickey 2: The Power Of Two Hands-On

Published on June 13, 2012 by

I really enjoyed the original Epic Mickey. Sure it was definitely rough around the edges and didn’t quite deliver on its promise of “your choices matter”, but what it did manage to offer was a fun adventure that captured the look and feel of Disney while throwing in an avalanche of the company’s history. From theme park rides and

Forza Horizon Hands-On

Published on June 12, 2012 by

Forza is set to see a dramatic shift in focus for its next instalment later this year thanks to newcomers Playground Games who have developed a title unlike anything seen from the series in the past. First and perhaps most notably is its open-world approach set in the American state of Colorado where you find yourself competing for most popular

Resident Evil 6 Hands-On

Published on June 12, 2012 by

I am a huge Resident Evil fan and have been ever since the first title released on the original PlayStation back in 1996. As of late however new entries in the series have lacked that scare factor the franchise was once known for, instead taking a more action focused route. Some have liked this new approach while others have felt

Pikmin 3 Hands-On

Published on June 9, 2012 by

It was almost too hard to believe seeing Pikmin 3 at the Nintendo press conference earlier this morning. After so many years of eagerly awaiting an announcement at an E3 the time had finally come, and I have to say, if you’re a fan of the series, the demo playable on the show floor, did not disappoint.     The

New Super Mario Bros U Hands-On

Published on June 8, 2012 by

New Super Mario Bros U made a very brief appearance during the Nintendo Direct showing on Sunday with the odd five second video here and there, but on Tuesday I got the opportunity to go hands-on with the plumbers latest 2D outing. While online and community features weren’t shown off, I did get a chance to see how the
