FanCensus Top 10 Games of 2012 (Dan’s List)

Ah, its that time of year again. Christmas is just around the corner and the new year is slowly approaching us and since there are no more major releases coming out this year its the perfect time to reflect on the games that 2012 gave us. Due to insufficient time and funds I have been unable to play a lot

Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse Review

November is a pretty crazy month in the calendar for gaming, as we see AAA titles like Halo 4, Black Ops 2, Assassin’s Creed 3 and Far Cry 3 all hitting the shelves. These titles are so commercially and critically acclaimed that it’s incredibly easy for smaller games to slip under the radar unnoticed. Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse

Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation Review

Published on November 5, 2012 by

The Playstation Vita is a fantastic piece of equipment but unfortunately the system is still struggling with gaining a good catalogue of must-have titles. The handheld gets a few new IPs that stand out like Gravity Rush, but for the most part the Vita just ends up getting inferior versions of games I’d rather be playing on a home console.

Dishonored Review

Published on October 23, 2012 by

It’s that crazy time of year that all gamers look forward to (and our bank balance dreads) the most. The summer drought has ended and it’s time to enter the run up to Christmas. This means the usual annual £40 updates to football games, the latest entry in the Call of Duty series and other sequels hoping to sell bucket

LittleBigPlanet Vita Review

Published on October 3, 2012 by

The Playstation Vita has been out a while now, but since its release the system’s killer titles have been few and far between. Games such as Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Gravity Rush are amazing examples of just what the system can offer and there are plenty of great downloadable games available too but for a lot of people their consoles

Jet Set Radio HD Review

As much as I would have loved to have owned every single console in the past, realistically I was too young to afford them all and as a result the Dreamcast completely slipped under my radar. However thanks to the wonders of Xbox Marketplace and Playstation Network I’ve been able to discover a good selection of Dreamcast games that Sega

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron Review

Transformers toys from Hasbo have been around for decades and it’s very easy to see why. As a child (and even an adult) there seems be nothing more awesome than a robot that transforms into a vehicle. As a result, Transformers have had many video games and films over its lifetime all with very questionable results. This isn’t surprising though,

FanCensus Favourite… Boss Battles

Published on August 15, 2012 by

The boss battle or as some may call it “hit a big thing three times in it’s weak point to win”. It’s a marker of your impending arrival toward the end of a stage, world or the game itself. All your navigating, previous challenges and progression have been building to these major moments. That moment where you’re in what looks

Disney Pixar’s Brave: The Video Game Review

Published on August 8, 2012 by

I’m a big fan of Pixar films and I’m also a big fan of video games however I’ve found the two don’t always go hand in hand. I found Toy Story 3 and Cars 2 to be really good, solid games, but found others like Up, Wall-E and Ratatouille to be very average. The latest Pixar film released this summer

FanCensus Favourite… Horror Games

Published on July 30, 2012 by

I don’t know if it’s just me, but the horror genre in video games proves much more effective than it does in any movie I’ve seen. Whether it’s the fact games go places, movies dare not try or that you are physically controlling every outcome that plays out in front of you, I genuinely feel more uneasy and scared sitting
