That title alone should be enough to get wrestling fans excited. After all the ‘Attitude Era’ gave us some of the most entertaining wrestlers of all time. Mankind, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock… I could go on. Along with this announcement, THQ has also revealed the game will launch October 30th in the US on PlayStation 3, Wii and Xbox 360. Europe gets a vague autumn for now.
The game will feature a single player campaign named WWE Universe 3.0, which is said to include dynamically changing alliances, rivalries and plenty of unpredictable moments. Whatsmore a new audio and presentation system, WWE Live, will improve the game’s commentary, sound effects and best of all crowd participation. Hopefully the developers will capture the feel of the match through audio better than previous years.
77 playable characters will be shipped with the final product, making it the biggest roster in a THQ WWE title to date.
THQ’s brand executive Sean Ratcliffe says, “WWE Live will bring the impassioned WWE live event experience into the living rooms of consumers, while critical core gameplay improvements and a serious dose of attitude will enable them to experience WWE action like never before.”
