Publisher Activision has announced a spin off video game of Skylanders for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

Subtitled Cloud Patrol the game takes a arcade-like shooting style and features over thirty characters from Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure, ranking and reward systems, and unlockables. The game takes place in a new part of Skylands overrun again by the evil Kaos. It’s sure to appeal to fans with a iPhone as now you’ll get the chance to bring Spyro, Zap and all your Skylanders with you wherever you go and without the need for a plastic portal or the figures.

It certainly is bright and colourful

Those of you who have purchased figures previously will be able to use the serial number of the toy and unlock that character in the iPhone game. If not you will have to use some  of you virtual currency (gems) to unlock said character. Gems themselves cost actual money however but you can also earn coins in the game to be used for power-ups.

Seems like a cool addition to the ever growing series and for only 69p (at least if you don’t want all the extra characters), if you’re a fan of Skylanders it may be worth checking out.
