Why base a new James Bond game on just one movie when you can link it with six? That’s the vision Eurocom have for their next project it seems as Activision have just officially announced 007 Legends.
“To honor 50 years of the world’s top secret agent, 007 Legends offers a collection of his most famed moments in the smartest and most treacherous Bond game yet,” said David Oxford, executive vice president at Activision Publishing via official press release. “Creating a video game storyline that ties together six popular, yet very different, Bond movie narratives can be challenging, but together with EON Productions, our developer Eurocom, has pulled it off to create an homage that we think will be a unique and highly entertaining Bond video game.”
The game will link the events of five previous yet to be announced James Bond films as well as this year’s new Daniel Craig Bond flick, Skyfall. It will also feature the Mi6 Ops Missions from GoldenEye 007: Reloaded, this time allowing players to play as the villains too. Multiplayer will include local four-player split-screen game modes as well as online gameplay with new maps, weapons and characters from Bond’s fifty year legacy.
007 Legends is expected to release in Fall 2012 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
